Furthermore, eligible participants were required to (a)qualify as higher-fit or lower-fit children (see Aerobic fitnessassessment section); (b) report no adverse health conditions,physical incapacities, or neurological disorders; (c) report nouse of medications that influence central nervous systemfunction; (d) have a corrected visual acuity of 20/20 and nocolor-blindness; and (e) sign an informed assent approvedby the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. A legalguardian also had to provide written informed consent inaccordance with the institutional review board of the Universityof Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Subjects werecompensated $10 per hour for study participation.
