บริษัท สหพัฒนพิบูล จำกัด (มหาชน)
เริ่มก่อตั้งโดย ดร.เทียม โชควัฒนา ในปี พ.ศ. 2485
ภายใต้ชื่อ “เฮียบเซ่งเชียง” ที่ตรอกอาเนียเก็ง
ถนนทรงวาดด้วยเงินทุนเพียง 10,000 บาท โดยเริ่ม
จากการขายของเบ็ดเตล็ดที่สั่งซื้อจากฮ่องกง

ต่อมาได้ขยายกิจ การเป็นตัวแทนจำหน่ายสินค้าจาก
ต่างประเทศในปี 2495 “เฮียบเซ่งเชียง” ได้เปลี่ยนชื่อ
เป็น บริษัท สหพัฒนพิบูล จำกัด ด้วย ทุนจดทะเบียน
1 ล้านบาท

โดยนำเข้าสินค้าอุปโภคบริโภคนานาชนิดมาจำหน่าย
ต่อมาได้สร้างโรงงานโดยร่วมทุนกับบริษัท ไลอ้อน
ประเทศญี่ปุ่น เพื่อผลิตยาสีฟ้น แชมพู ผงซักฟอก และ
ได้สร้างโรงงานผลิตบะหมี่กึ่งสำเร็จรูปมาม่า

ความสำเร็จของผงซักฟอกเปาบุ้นจิ้น
และบะหมี่กึ่งสำเร็จรูปมาม่านั้น ทำให้
บริษัทสหพัฒนพิบูล เริ่มขยายโรงงานไปที่ศรีราชา
และ ได้เข้าจดทะเบียนในตลาดหลักทรัพย์
แห่งประเทศไทยเป็นบริษัท มหาชนด้วยเงินทุน
จดทะเบียน 30 ล้านบาทในปีพ.ศ. 2521

ต่อมา ในปี พ.ศ. 2531 ได้เพิ่มทุนจดทะเบียนเป็น
200 ล้านบาท จนกระทั่ง ปัจจุบัน
บริษัทมีทุนจดทะเบียนรวมทั้งสิ้น 600 ล้านบาท
