วันที่ ๓ ธันวาคม ของทุกปี เป็น "คนพิการสากล">วันคนพิการสากล" ประเทศไทยในฐานะองค์กรสมาชิกของสหประชาชาติ ได้มีการจัดกิจกรรมส่งเสริมคนพิการทั่วประเทศเนื่องใน “วันคนพิการสากล” เพื่อส่งเสริมความเข้าใจของสังคมต่อคนพิการ และระดมการสนับสนุนแก่คนพิการเพื่อศักดิ์ศรีและความเป็นอยู่ของคนพิการ นอกจากนี้ยังเป็นการสร้างความตื่นตัวของประชาชนต่อคนพิการในทุกๆ ด้าน
