2.7 Manual Cleaning (Business Steward), Garbage

Address records that could not be cleaned or enriched anymore by logic provided in cleansing, enrichment, or

transliteration process will be diverted into three directions.



First, the solution will categorize records whose information cannot be resolved either by system or human as garbage.

Any garbage records will accompany with tag description explaining type of the garbage such as “Out of Thailand

Territory”, “Insufficient Information”, “Inconsistent Data”, etc. The logic to define insufficient info and ambiguous data

can be found in Cleansing, Enrichment, and Validation section.

Second, the non‐garbage records will be considered complete when two of the following conditions are true.

1. All the words are known and can be classified into one of ten elements: Building No, Village No/Moo, Building

Name, Substreet, Street, Sub district, District, Province, Zip code, Country.

2. Sub district, District, Province, Zip code have values both in Thai and English

Finally, the rest of the records which have POSSIBILITY to be cleaned by human judgement with help of Google Map will

be brought into Business Steward Process. Within this process, the address cleaner (or Business Steward) will perform any

1. Classify any unknown words into one of ten elements: Building No, Village No/Moo, Building Name, Substreet,

Street, Sub district, District, Province, Zip code, Country.

2. Correct misspelling, resolve abbreviation, standardization.

4. Enrich missing information, if possible.

5. Provide English version of company, street, and substreet name.

6. Or define a particular record as garbage and identify type of garbage and put additional remark.

Whatever changes to the current information will be approved by two approvers: Address approver or Master approver.

Once approved, the modified record will once again get through the entire process: Parsing ‐> Cleansing ‐> Enrichment ‐>

Validation ‐> Transliteration to ensure its validity.
