อาเซียน คือ สมาคมประชาชาติแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ( Association of SouthEast Asian Nations หรือ ASEAN) การรวมตัวของชาติใน Asean 10 ประเทศโดยมี ไทย, พม่า, ลาว, เวียดนาม, มาเลเซีย, สิงคโปร์, อินโดนีเซีย, ฟิลิปปินส์, กัมพูชา, บรูไน โดยการจัดตั้งในครั้งแรกมีจุดประสงค์เพื่อส่งเสริมและร่วมมือในเรื่องสันติภาพ, ความมั่นคง, เศรษฐกิจ,องค์ความรู้, สังคมวัฒนธรรม บนพื้นฐานความเท่าเทียมกันและผลประโยชน์ร่วมกันของประเทศสมาชิกและเพื่อที่จะให้มีผลประโยชน์ทางเศรษฐกิจร่วมกัน จะมีรูปแบบคล้ายๆ กลุ่ม Euro Zone ทำให้มีผลประโยชน์อำนาจต่อรองต่างๆกับคู่ค้าได้มากขึ้นและการนำเข้าและส่งออกของชาติในอาเซียนอย่างเสรี ยกเว้นสินค้าบางชนิดที่แต่ละประเทศอาจจะขอไว้ไม่ลดภาษีนำเข้า Aseanจะรวมตัวเป็นประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียนซึ่งมีผลวันที่ 31 ธันวาคม 2558
