ประโยชน์ทางสมุนไพร :  ตำรายาไทยใช้น้ำต้มใบสดดื่มรักษาโรคปากเปื่อย ปากเหม็น เจ็บคอ ร้อนใน กระหายน้ำ ลดไข้ ขับปัสสาวะ แก้ท้องเสีย ใช้เป็นยาภายนอกรักษาแผลเปื่อย แผลไฟไหม้ น้ำร้อนลวก โดยใช้ใบสด 1 กำมือ ล้างให้สะอาด ตำละเอียดคั้นเอาน้ำทาบริเวณแผลบ่อย ๆ ใช้กากพอกด้วยก็ได้ แผลจะสนิทและและเกิดแผลเป็นชนิดนูน (keloid) น้อยลง สารที่ออกฤทธิ์ คือ กรด madecassic, กรด Asiatic และ asiaticoside ซึ่งช่วยสมานแผลและเร่งการสร้างเนื้อเยื่อ ระงับการเจริญเติบโตของเชื้อแบคทีเรียที่ทำให้เกิดหนองและลดการอักเสบ มีรายงานการค้นพบฤทธิ์ฆ่าเชื้อราอันเป็นสาเหตุของโรคกลาก ปัจจุบันมีการพัฒนายาเตรียมชนิดครีม ใช้ทารักษาแผลอักเสบจากการผ่าตัดด้วย
