ประวัติวัดโตนดวัดโตนดเป็นวัดเก่าแก่
ประวัติวัดโตนด
วัดโตนดเป็นวัดเก่าแก่ เชื่อว่ามีอายุประมาณ ๓๐๐ ปีเศษ เป็นวัดราษฎร์ ตั้งอยู่หมู่บ้านโตนดตำบลหนองระเวียง อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนครราชสีมา ในสมัยโบราณวัดนี้ตั้งอยู่ท้ายบึงหัวทะเลมีอาณาเขตกว้างขวาง หัวบึงอยู่วัดหัวทะเลและวัดศาลาทอง ซึ่งอยู่ทางด้านประตูชัยณรงค์ (ประตูผี) ทิศใต้ของกำแพงเมืองนครราชสีมา บึงนี้เป็นที่กักเก็บน้ำสำหรับเลี้ยงตัวเมือง ส่วนปลายบึงหรือท้ายบึง ซึ่งเป็นทางที่น้ำไหลไปสู่ลำน้ำมูล อยู่ติดกับหมู่บ้านโตนด หมู่บ้านพะไล พะเนา มะเริง และ พระพุทธ
หมู่บ้านโตนดนี้เป็นแหล่งพืชพันธุ์ ธัญญาหารอันอุดมสมบูรณ์ เช่นเดียวกับหมู่บ้านปรุ สมัยโบราณ การติดต่อกับตัวเมืองกระทำโดยทางเรือ ต่อมาเมื่อธรรมชาติเปลี่ยนแปลงบึงให้ตื้นเขินขึ้น จนกลายเป็นทุ่งนา ประกอบกับการก่อสร้างทางรถไฟและถนนหนทาง ทำให้เกิดการปิดกั้นทางน้ำที่ไหลลงสู่บึงจนปริมาณน้ำลดน้อยลง บึงหัวทะเลจึงกลายเป็นทุ่งนาไปดังที่เห็นอยู่ทุกวันนี้ และหมู่บ้านโตนดได้ลดความอุดมสมบูรณ์ ในเวลาต่อมาอันเนื่องจากการขาดแคลนน้ำ
การเดินทางติดต่อระหว่างบ้านโตนดกับตัวเมือง มีสองทาง คือ เดินไปขึ้นรถไฟที่สถานีพะเนาซึ่งห่างจากโตนด ๓ กิโลเมตรทางหนึ่ง อีกทางหนึ่งคือนั่นเกวียนหรือรถยนต์ฝ่ายหมู่บ้านหนองม่วง ชะอม ทับช้าง ขี้ตุ่น ซึ่งเป็นทางเกวียนไปออกที่บ้านด่านเกวียน แล้วย้อนกลับมาตามถนนโชคชัยเข้าสู้ตัวเมือง
ปัจจุบันนี้ ถนนแยกจากถนนโชคชัยตัดตรงเข้ามาวัดโตนด ทำให้การคมนาคมสะดวกขึ้นเป็นอันมาก
การสร้างถนนโชคชัย-บ้านโตนด
เป็นถนนแยกจากถนนโชคชัยตรงกิโลเมตรที่ ๒ (ข้างป่าช้าจีน) ตัดผ่านเนื้อที่ตำบลหัวทะเลและผ่านป่าบ้านโตนดของตำบลหนองระเวียงมาจดถนนบ้านโตนดที่หน้าโรงเรียนประชาสามัคคี
ประวัติการสร้างถนนนี้เดิมมีอยู่ว่า การเดินทางติดต่อระหว่างบ้านโตนดกับตัวเมืองนครราชสีมานั้นเป็นไปด้วยความยากลำบากยิ่ง เนื่องจากต้องอ้อมเป็นระยะทางไกลทางหนึ่งคือเดินจากหมู่บ้านโตนดถึงสถานีรถไฟพะเนา ระยะทาง ๓ กิโลเมตร แล้วขึ้นรถไฟไปลงที่สถานีจิระ ส่วนอีกทางหนึ่งไปทางรถยนต์ คือ เดินทางไปตามทางเกวียนผ่านหมู่บ้านหนองม่วง หมู่บ้านชะอม หมู่บ้านทับช้าง หมู่บ้านขี้ตุ่น และบ้านด่านเกวียน และวกเข้าถนนโชคชัย เป็นระยะทางประมาณ ๑๔ กิโลเมตร จากบ้านด่านเกวียนเดินทางเข้าตัวเมืองระยะทางอีก ๑๔ กิโลเมตร
ต่อมาเมื่อ พ.ศ. ๒๕๑๐ ท่านพระครูอนุกูลสิกขภูมิ ได้ริเริ่มตัดถนนผ่านป่าบ้านโตนด ขอที่ทางของชาวบ้าน ขอแรงญาติโยมชาวบ้านโตนดให้ช่วยกันถางป่า โดยใช้ช้างชาวชัยภูมิเชือกหนึ่งนำทางแล้วผูกผ้าเหลืองเป็นระยะๆ เพื่อเป็นแนวสังเกตเส้นทาง เมื่อตรงกับที่หวงห้ามของผู้ใดก็ขอบริจาคเป็นการกุศลสาธารณะ หากจำเป็นต้องเลี่ยงก็เลี่ยงไปทางอื่น ถนนสายนี้จึงคดเคี้ยวไปมาตามความจำเป็น นอกจากนี้ยังได้รวบรวมเงินบริจาคได้ประมาณ ๑๐๐,๐๐๐ บาท เพื่อใช้จ่ายในการบุกเบิก เช่น ค่าเช่ารถแทรคเตอร์ และค่าน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิง แต่ก็ไม่สามารถทำถนนได้สำเร็จ เมื่อฤดูฝนผ่านมา ต้นไม้ที่ถากถางก็งอกงามขึ้นมาอีก จึงเพียงแต่ได้ถนนเป็นแนวทางไว้เท่านั้น
ต่อมาเมื่อ พ.ศ. ๒๕๑๑ ท่านพระครูอนุกูลสิกขภูมิ ได้ไปติดต่อกับผู้อำนวยการวิทยาลัยเทคนิคภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือเพื่อขอให้ช่วย ขณะนั้นผู้อำนวยการวิทยาลัยกำลังมองหาที่ดินผืนใหญ่สำหรับใช้ในโครงการฝึกช่างเทคนิคเพื่อการเร่งรัดพัฒนาและการขยายกิจการของวิทยาลัยด้วย ท่านพระครูรับให้ความอุปการะช่วยเหลือในการจัดหาที่ดินนี้ ในชั้นแรกได้ปรึกษากับกำนันตำบลหนองระเวียง นายอำเภอ และผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัด (นายสวัสดิ์วงศ์ ปฏิทัศน์) ซึ่งต่างก็มองเห็นประโยชน์ในการพัฒนาอำเภอและจังหวัด และจะได้ช่วยเหลือทางราชการของวิทยาลัยให้มีการขยายแผนงานการศึกษาในอนาคตด้วย ทุกฝ่ายจึงได้ให้การสนับสนุนอย่างเต็มที่จนได้เริ่มงานพัฒนา “ถนนโชคชัย-บ้านโตนด” และจัดตั้ง “ศูนย์ฝึกวิชาชีพภาคสนาม” ของวิทยาลัยพร้อมกันไป เป็นถนนยาว ๑๐ กิโลเมตร ส่วนที่ดินที่จับจองเป็นของวิทยาลัย มีเนื้อที่ประมาณ ๒,๕๐๐ ไร่
ระหว่างการพัฒนาถนนและจับจองที่ดินนี้ ได้มีการติดต่อประสานงานกันอย่างใกล้ชิดกับเจ้าอาวาสวัดโตนด กำนันหนองระเวียง นายอำเภอเมืองนครราชสีมา ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดนครราชสีมา และผู้อำนวยการวิทยาลัยเทคนิคภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ มีการประชุมราษฎรบ่อยครั้ง ราษฎรและเจ้าของที่ซึ่งได้จับจองที่ดินไว้สำหรับการทำมาหากิน ได้ให้ความร่วมมือเป็นอย่างดี ได้ทำการมอบที่ดินของตนให้วิทยาลัย ทำให้ไม่เกิดปัญหาในการดำเนินเรื่องเพื่อขอสวงนสิทธิ์การใช้ที่ดิน ซึ่งจะเป็นของกรมอาชีวศึกษา กระทรวงศึกษาธิการ การที่ราษฎรได้ให้ความร่วมมือกับวิทยาลัยเป็นอย่างดีนี้ เป็นเพราะเจ้าอาวาสวัดโตนดได้ให้ความอุปการะร่วมมือกับผู้อำนวยการเป็นอย่างดียิ่ง
การตั้งศูนย์ฝึกวิชาชีพภาคสนาม
ศูนย์ฝึกวิชาชีพภาคสนามของวิทยาลัยเทคนิคภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ นครราชสีมา ได้รับการช่วยเหลือจากเจ้าอาวาสวัดโตนดในการดำเนินการจัดตั้ง ได้กระทำพิธีเปิดเมื่อวันที่ ๒๑ กรกฎาคม พ.ศ. ๒๕๑๒ เวลา ๑๐.๓๐ น. เป็นเวลาเดียวกันกับที่มนุษย์จากยานอวกาศลงดวงจันทร์พอดี พระเทพสีมาภรณ์ เป็นประธานฝ่ายสงฆ์ ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดเป็นประธานฝ่ายฆราวาส (เนื่องจาก นายสมชาย กลิ่นแก้ว ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดติดราชการ จึงมอบให้ท่านรองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดขณะนั้นคือ นายบุญรอด โชตะมังสะ ทำพิธีเปิดแทน) ราษฎรบ้านโตนดได้ช่วยจัดถวายภัตตาหารแด่พระสงฆ์ และตั้งแต่ศูนย์ฝึกได้จัดตั้งขึ้นแล้ว การพัฒนาท้องถิ่นของประชาชนแถบนี้ก็เจริญขึ้นเป็นลำดับ

พระครูอนุกูลสิกขภูมิ เดิมชื่อมาก นามสกุล ฐานกระโทก เกิดวันที่ ๑ พฤษภาคม ๒๔๘๑ บิดาชื่อ เกิด มารดาชื่อ แมน เกิดที่ บ้านหมู่ที่ ๑๐ บ้านโตนด ตำบลหนองระเวียง อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนครราชสีมา ได้รับการศึกษาชั้นต้นที่โรงเรียนวัดโตนด สำเร็จชั้นประถมปีที่ ๔ เมื่อ พ.ศ. ๒๔๙๓ ได้อุปสมบทที่วัดโตนด ซึ่งเป็นบ้านเกิดของท่าน เมื่อวันที่ ๒๑ เมษายน ๒๕๐๒ โดยมีพระครูพิทักษ์ตาลภูมิเจ้าอาวาสวัดโตนด ขณะนั้นเป็นพระอุปัชฌาย์ ได้รับฉายาว่า อโสโก
เมื่อได้อุปสมบทแล้ว ท่านก็ได้สนใจในการศึกษาเล่าเรียนตลอดมา จนสอบได้นักธรรมเอ
