การศึกษาครั้งนี้เป็นการศึกษาเชิงสำรวจ(Survey Research ) มีวัตถุประสงค์
เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคุณลักษณะส่วนบุคคล การมีสนับสนุนทางสังคมกับการปฏิบัติงานตามบทบาทหน้าที่ของอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขประจำหมู่บ้าน ตำบลทุ่งโพ อำเภอหนองฉาง จังหวัดอุทัยธานี ตัวแปรที่ศึกษาคือ เพศ อายุ สถานภาพสมรส ระดับการศึกษา รายได้ อาชีพ ระยะเวลาการเป็นอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขประจำหมู่บ้าน การสนับสนุนทางสังคมและการปฏิบัติงานตามบทบาทหน้าที่ของอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขประจำหมู่บ้าน ตำบลทุ่งโพ อำเภอหนองฉาง จังหวัดอุทัยธานี โดยตัวอย่างที่ศึกษา คือ อาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขประจำหมู่บ้าน ตำบลทุ่งโพ จำนวนทั้งหมด 144 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการศึกษาเป็นแบบสอบถามที่ผู้ศึกษาสร้างขึ้น ผลการศึกษา พบว่า
1.อาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขประจำหมู่บ้าน ตำบลทุ่งโพ มีการสนับสนุนทางสังคมอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง
2.อาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขประจำหมู่บ้าน ตำบลทุ่งโพ มีการปฏิบัติงานตามบทบาทหน้าที่ของอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขประจำหมู่บ้านอยู่ในระดับมาก
3.ตัวแปรคุณลักษณะส่วนบุคคลไม่มีความสัมพันธ์กับการปฏิบัติงานตามบทบาทหน้าที่ของอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขประจำหมู่บ้าน
4.ตัวแปรด้านการสนับสนุนทางสังคมที่มีความสัมพันธ์ในการร่วมพยากรณ์การการปฏิบัติงานตามบทบาทหน้าที่ของอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขประจำหมู่บ้าน คือด้านข้อมูลข่าวสาร และด้านสิ่งของเครื่องใช้ ตามลำดับซึ่งร่วมพยากรณ์การปฏิบัติงานตามบทบาทหน้าที่ของอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขประจำหมู่บ้าน ได้ร้อยละ 62 (R2=0.62)
