 ประโยชน์ที่ประเทศไทยจะได้รับจากการเป็น ประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียน หรือ AEC 

          1. ขยายการส่งออกและโอกาสทางการค้า  จาการยกเลิกอุปสรรคภาษีและที่มิใช่ภาษีจะเปิดโอกาสให้สินค้า  เคลื่อนย้ายเสรี

          2. คาดว่า  การส่งออกไทยไปอาเซียนจะสามารถขยายตัวได้ไม่ต่ำกว่า 18 - 20%  ต่อปี

          3. เปิดโอกาสการค้าบริการ  ในสาขาที่ไทยมีความเข้มแข็ง  เช่น  ท่องเที่ยว  โรงแรมและร้านอาหาร  สุขภาพ  ทำให้ไทยมีรายได้จากการค้าบริการไปต่างประเทศเพิ่มขึ้น
