นำความรู้พัฒนาท้องถิ่น “โครงการบัณฑิตคืนถิ่น”

อีกหนึ่งโครงการในพระราชดำริของสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี ที่มีจุดประสงค์ในการช่วยเหลือนักศึกษาท้องถิ่นทุรกันดาร เพื่อให้ได้ศึกษาต่อในระดับอุดมศึกษา นั้นคือ “โครงการบัณฑิตคืนถิ่น” ถือเป็นโครงการที่ให้เยาวชนที่ขาดโอกาสด้านการศึกษา ได้ศึกษาในระดับที่สูงขึ้น เพื่อนำความรู้ไปใช้พัฒนาท้องถิ่นของตนนั่นเอง

โครงการนี้เป็นโครงการที่มีส่วนช่วยให้นักศึกษามีการฝึกฝนตนเอง และใช้ชีวิตอยู่บนพื้นฐานของเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง เช่น มีการทำแปลงเกษตร ปลูกผักกินกันเอง มีการทำกับข้าวกินกันเป็นกลุ่ม และยังมีอาจารย์มาให้ความรู้ มีการฝึกอาชีพ การบำเพ็ญประโยชน์ การสร้างจิตอาสา การพัฒนาศักยภาพของนักศึกษา การศึกษาดูงาน และการออกค่ายอาสา เป็นต้น

โดยนักศึกษาที่ได้รับพระราชทานทุนในโครงการบัณฑิตคืนถิ่น ถือว่ามีแรงผลักดันให้มีความมุ่งมั่น ตั้งใจเรียน เพื่อกลับไปทำงานในพื้นที่ถูมิลำเนา และยังเป็นการสร้างโอกาสที่ดีที่จะตอบแทนบ้านเกิดหรือท้องถิ่นใกล้เคียงในชนบทของนิสิตนักศึกษาด้วย
