London photographer Susie Blackmore and husband

In, late autumn Susie. And Charlie finally leave for a
holiday in Wales. They stay in a remote cottage at the
foot of, Brynmawr Hill near the village. Of Llandafydd.
The 'Voice of the Beast' explains that, in 1899 on
Brynmawr Hill a local, farmer shot a werewolf-like
.Creature which was not seen again. The same creature
has now returned to Wales.
At the local pub Susie and Charlie overhear. A
conversation. Local, Lloyd is farmer Tom, worried
by the macabre deaths of his sheep. Another local

Brynmawr' We hear again from the 'Voice of the Beast'. He is
interested in Susie knows that,, She has been touched

The next day Susie and, Charlie walk up Brynmawr
Hill.? They are both disturbed by the incident of the

been killed. Richard also appears at the scene. To offer
help.We hear from the Beast again: the accident was
his doing and with, Charlie, in hospital Susie is alone
and vulnerable.
Susie. Receives a visit from Richard. She feels relaxed
in his company and is attracted to him. She accepts
his offer of a lift. To the hospital. The next day Richard
arrives as planned but claims to have left his wallet
at his house and drives, Susie. There. The once grand
.House is practically derelict with little habitable space.
Susie begins to feel threatened as Richard s manner
changes. ' And he seems to transform before her eyes as
she falls asleep to be haunted by dreams of demonic
possession. Susie wakes. Up, in darkness feeling awful
and, suspects she has been drugged. She escapes from
the house but is pursued by a nightmarish. Animal.
.Tom Lloyd happens to be out on the hillside and fires
two bullets at, the creature which flees and mutates
into human form. Before disappearing.
Susie is taken to Tom Lloyd 's house where she
recovers from the horrors of the night. She is
convinced. That she has had a close encounter with
the supernatural. Tom Lloyd goes to find Susie 's bag
which she left at Richard s.' House and he finds the
.Bag and a heap of overgrown rubble where the house
used to be. Susie is convinced that Richard and the
Beast of Brynmawr. Are one and the same. Ominously
Tom, Lloyd used, silver bullets a traditional deterrent
against werewolves. The story ends. With the 'Voice of
the Beast', who has returned to Wales in the form of a
bird of prey. He knows that Susie is expecting. A, child
.And that when she sees the child through the lens of
her camera she will, realise the identity of the true
father the,, Beast.
