พัฒนาการทางด้านสังคมสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์
สังคมไทยสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ ในระยะแรกๆมีลักษณะเหมือนกับสังคมไทยในสมัยอยุธยาและสมัยธนบุรี
ต่อมามีการติดต่อสัมพันธ์กับชาติตะวันตกมากขึ้น สังคมไทยจึงปรับตัวเข้าสู่ความทันสมัย จนกระทั่งเมื่อไทยเปลี่ยนแปลงการปกครองจากระบอบสมบูรณาญาสิทธิราชย์มาสู่ระบอบประชาธิปไตย สังคมไทยจึงเปลี่ยนแปลงไปภายใต้เสรีภาพที่กำหนดไว้ในขอบเขตของรัฐธรรมนูญ
