ผลการวิจัยพบว่าคำศัพท์ภาษาจีนที่ปรากฏในประเพณีกินเจของชาวไทยเชื้อสายจีนในจังหวัดตรัง มีจำนวนทั้งสิ้น 249 คำ ซึ่งแยกประเภทเป็น 6 ประเภท คือ คำศัพท์ที่ใช้เรียกชื่อสถานที่มีจำนวน 7 คำคำศัพท์ที่ใช้เรียกชื่ออุปกรณ์เครื่องใช้มีจำนวน 73 คำ คำศัพท์ที่ใช้เรียกชื่อการประกอบพิธีกรรมมีจำนวน 52 คำ คำศัพท์ที่ใช้เรียกชื่อบุคคลและเทพเจ้ามีจำนวน 64 คำ คำศัพท์ที่ใช้เรียกชื่ออาหารและเครื่องดื่มมีจำนวน 39 คำ และคำศัพท์ที่ใช้เรียกชื่อวันและเวลามีจำนวน 14 คำ
