โครงการวิจัยนี้ ได้ทำการทดสอบประสิทธิภาพระบบป้องกันการบุกรุกเครือข่ายในระบบโทรทัศน์ผ่านอินเทอร์เน็ต (Internet Protocol Television :IPTV) โดยเน้นไปทางการป้องกันการโจมตีแบบ Denial of Service (DoS) ที่มุ่งทำลายเครื่องแม่ข่ายที่เปิดให้บริการกับผู้ใช้ ซึ่งจะเป็นผลกระทบอย่างรุนแรงของผู้ประกอบการ โดยงานวิจัยนี้ได้นำเทคนิคการป้องกันการบุกรุกเครือข่ายแบบ Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) มาทดสอบประสิทธิภาพการบุกรุกในส่วนของ Internal Attack และวิเคราะห์หาประสิทธิภาพการป้องกันการบุกรุกในโครงสร้างพื้นฐานด้านเครือข่ายของระบบโทรทัศน์ผ่านอินเทอร์เน็ต (IPTV) ซึ่งจากผลการวิจัยในครั้งนี้พบว่าระบบป้องกันการบุกรุกเครือข่ายเครือข่ายด้วย IPS ที่โพรโทคอล TCP โดยการโจมตีผ่านระบบเครือข่ายด้วย Multicast IP Address มีประสิทธิภาพสูงสุด
