งานวิจัยนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อศึกษากลวิธีการแปลเพลงสากลของ Taylor Swift จากภาษาอังกฤษเป็นภาษาไทย ผู้วิจัยได้คัดเลือกเพลงของศิลปินที่ชื่อ Taylor Swift เป็นเพลงภาษาอังกฤษยอดนิยมของ Taylor Swift ที่มียอดการจัดอันดับความนิยม ณ เดือนกันยายน พ.ศ. 2566 ซึ่งถูกนับยอดการฟังจากแอพพลิเคชั่น Spotify จำนวน 10 เพลง ได้แก่ 1. Blank Space (2014) 2. I Don't Want To Live Forever (2017) 3. Shake it off (2014) 4. Anti-Hero (2022) 5. Cruel Summer (2019) 6. Lover (2019) 7. Look what you made me do (2017) 8. Style (2014) 9. Wildest Dreams (2014) เมื่อพูดถึงบทเพลงภาษาอังกฤษนั้น มักจะมีความซับซ้อนในการแปลให้เป็นภาษาไทย หากต้องการแปลให้ได้ความหมายที่เข้าใจง่ายและความหมายตรงตามที่บทเพลงสื่อออกมาให้ดีนั้นขึ้นอยู่กับทักษะเฉพาะบุคคล เนื่องจากภาษาในบทเพลงที่ต้นฉบับใช้มีการใช้กลวิธีในการแปลภาษาที่หลากหลาย ซึ่งการที่จะแปลตรงตัวเพียงอย่างเดียวนั้นอาจทำให้ความหมายผิดเพี้ยนไปจากภาษาต้นฉบับได้ ผู้วิจัยจึงได้ทำบทวิจัยนี้ขึ้นมาเพื่อการศึกษากลวิธีการแปลเพลงสากล จากผลการศึกษากลวิธีการแปลเพลงสากลของ Taylor Swift ที่มียอดการจัดอันดับความนิยม ณ เดือนกันยายน พ.ศ. 2566 จำนวนทั้งหมด 10 เพลง พบว่ากลวิธีการแปลที่มีการใช้มากที่สุด คือ การสับเปลี่ยนทางไวยากรณ์ (ร้อยละ 46.3) และกลวิธีการแปลที่ไม่พบการนำมาใช้ในบทเพลงเลย คือ การยืมคำและการแปลแบบคาล์ค ตามแนวคิดของ Zakhir (2008) และยังพบกลวิธีนอกเหนือจากที่ศึกษาคือ การแปลตามตัวอักษร การแปลคำต่อคำ การแปลแบบสำนวน และการแปลแบบอิสระ ตามแนวคิดของ Newmark (1988) และรัชนีโรจน์ กุลธำรง (2552)

To translate it to have a meaning that is easy to understand and the meaning that the song conveys well depends on the individual's skills. Due to the language used in the original song, various translation strategies were used. In which the only direct translation may cause the meaning to be distorted from the original language. The researcher therefore created this research paper to study strategies for translating international songs. From the results of the study of translation strategies for Taylor Swift's international songs that were ranked in the popularity rankings as of September 2023, a total of 10 songs, it was found that the translation strategy that was used the most was grammatical switching (hundreds and translation strategies that were not used in songs at all were word borrowing and kalk translation according to Zakhir (2008) and also found strategies other than those studied, namely Literal translation word-by-word translation idiomatic translation and free translation according to the ideas of Newmark (1988) and Ratchaneeroj Kulthamrong (2009)

The researchers conducted this international study and studied Taylor Swift's universal song translation method, which won the highest popularity rating in September. Dr. 2566 found that the most commonly used translation strategies were grammar switching (46%3) and the translation strategies that were not found in the songs were borrowing words and Calker translation based on the concept of Zakir (2008).
