หมีเซิน (My Son) หมายถึง ภูเขาอันสวยงาม เป็นแหล่งผสมผสานคติความเชื่อ เรื่องการบูชาเทพเจ้าแห่งขุนเขา กับคติความเชื่อเรื่องเทพเจ้าของฮินดู

องค์การยูเนสโก ประกาศให้ หมี เซิน (My Son) เป็นมรดกโลกเมื่อ ปี พ.ศ. 2542

ร่องรอยประวัติศาสตร์ของ หมี เซิน อาณาจักรอันเกรียงไกรขอบ “จาม” มีทั้งโบราณวัตถุ สร้อยอักษรจากศิลาจารึก และถาพจำหลักเล่าเรื่องราว หลักฐานทั้งหมดส่งเสริมซึ่งกันและกัน และสอดคล้องต้องกัน

คำว่า อาณาจักรจาม หมายถึง แว่นแคว้นน้อยใหญ่ทั้ง5 ของชนเผ่าพันธุ์จาม ซึ่งประกอบด้วย โอรี , วิชัย , เคาธาระ, พันธุรังคะ และอมราวตี แว่นแคว้นอมราวตีนี้เองคือ หมี เซิน อยู่ทางทิศใต้ของ ฮอย อัน จังหวัด ดานัง ของเวียดนาม

ระยะทางจาก ดานังไปหมี เซิน ประมาณ 70 กม. แต่ถ้าเดินทางจาก ฮอยอัน ประมาณ 40 กม.เท่านั้น

อาณาจักรจามเจิญรุ่งเรืองในช่วงศตวรรษที่ 7-13

ประวัติศาสตร์ จาม มีการต่อสู้กับ ไดเวียด พ่ายแพ้ และถูกกลืนชาติไปในราวปี พ.ศ. 2375
