งานวิจัยเผย "เช็ดตัว" ด้วย "มะนาวผสมน้ำอุ่น" ช่วยลดไข้ได้!
น.ส.ชลิดา ภาวนาเกษมศานต์ พยาบาลชำนาญการ โรงพยาบาลนครพิงค์ จ.เชียงใหม่ กล่าวในการนำเสนองานวิจัยเรื่อง ประสิทธิผลของการใช้น้ำอุ่นผสมมะนาวในการเช็ดตัวลดไข้ในผู้ป่วย ภายในการประชุมวิชาการประจำปี กระทรวงสาธารณสุข ว่า ในปีงบประมาณ 2556 หอผู้ป่วยกุมารเวชกรรม โรงพยาบาลนครพิงค์ รับผู้ป่วยเด็กเข้ารับการรักษา 782 ราย ในจำนวนนี้มี 2 ราย ที่เกิดอาการชักเนื่องจากไข้สูง พบว่าปัญหาอย่างหนึ่งคือ

ผู้ดูแลผู้ปกครองไม่ให้ความร่วมมือในการเช็ดตัว โดยให้เหตุผลว่าการเช็ดตัวใช้เวลานาน และไข้กลับสูงซ้ำหลังเช็ดตัวไม่นาน จึงได้ทำการทดสอบเพื่อหาวิธีการเช็ดตัว ที่ช่วยเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพในลดไข้ในผู้ป่วยเด็ก ซึ่งได้เลือกใช้ "มะนาว" ที่มีงานวิจัยในต่างประเทศว่า มีฤทธิ์ช่วยลดไข้ได้ ซึ่งฤทธิ์ทางเคมีอยู่ในน้ำมันจากเปลือกมะนาว

วิธีการใช้คือ นำมะนาวมากดลงในน้ำอุ่น แล้วผ่าครึ่งซีกก่อนบีบน้ำมะนาวออกมา จากนั้นนำไปเช็ดตัวเพื่อลดไข้ ซึ่งมะนาวยังเป็นสิ่งที่หาง่ายในครัวเรือนไทยอีกด้วย

น.ส.ชลิดากล่าวว่า การทดลองได้ทำในผู้ป่วยเด็ก 60 ราย อายุเฉลี่ย 2 ขวบ ที่มีอุณหภูมิร่างกายมากกว่า 38.5 องศาเซลเซียส ซึ่งเข้ารับการรักษาเป็นผู้ป่วยใน โดยแบ่งกลุ่มเด็กเป็นกลุ่มที่ใช้น้ำอุ่นผสมน้ำมะนาว และใช้น้ำอุ่นตามปกติ และใช้ตารางเก็บบันทึกอุณหภูมิอย่างละเอียด

สำหรับวิธีเช็ดตัวใช้แบบผสมผสานระหว่างการเช็ดตัวพัน และห่อเป็นเวลา 15 นาที และการวัดอุณหภูมิร่างกายซ้ำหลังเช็ดตัวลดไข้ 15 นาที และนำข้อมูลการเก็บสถิติมาวิเคราะห์หาค่าเฉลี่ย จากผลการวิเคราะห์พบว่า กลุ่มผู้ป่วยเด็กที่เช็ดตัวด้วยน้ำอุ่นผสมมะนาวมีอุณหภูมิร่างกายลดลง มากกว่ากลุ่มผู้ป่วยเด็กที่เช็ดตัวด้วยน้ำอุ่นตามปกติ

ซึ่งค่าดังกล่าวถือว่ามีนัยยะสำคัญทางสถิติ ดังนั้น จึงสามารถนำมาใช้เป็นแนวทางเพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพในการลดไข้ได้
