ในปัจจุบันเราจะเห็นว่าในหนังสือแบบเรียนตามหลักสูตรแบบหนังสือเรียนพุทธศักราช ๒๕๕๑ ในกลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้ สังคมศึกษา ศาสนา และวัฒนธรรม จะมีเรื่องเกี่ยวกับสมาคมอาเซียน ข้าพเจ้าคิดว่าปัจจุบันนี้เรื่องสมาคมอาเซียนนั้นเข้ามามีบทบาทกับประเทศไทยมากขึ้น เพราะว่าประเทศไทยนั้นในปีพุทธศักราช ๒๕๕๘ จะเข้าสู่สมาคมอาเซียนอย่างเต็มตัว เพราะฉะนั้นคนไทยเราจึงจะต้องศึกษาเรื่องเกี่ยวกับสมาคมอาเซียนเพื่อจะได้มีองค์ความรู้ไม่ล้ำสมัยและสามารถนำไปเผยแพร่หรืออธิบายให้รุ่นน้องและบุคคลที่ยังไม่มีองค์ความรู้เกี่ยวกับสมาคมอาเซียนนั้นเอง
