ระบบการบริหารการศึกษาของประเทศมาเลเซีย
ระบบการบริหารการศึกษาอยู่ในความรับผิดชอบของกระทรวงศึกษาธิการแบ่งระดับการบริหารเป็น 5 ระดับคือ ระดับชาติ ระดับรัฐ ระดับอำเภอ ระดับกลุ่มโรงเรียน และระดับโรงเรียน การบริหารโรงเรียนระดับชาติอยู่ในความควบคุมของรัฐบาลกลาง (Federal Government) การศึกษาทุกประเภท ทุกระดับ อยู่ภายใต้ความรับผิดชอบของกระทรวงศึกษาธิการเพียงกระทรวงเดียว ยกเว้น Non – formal Education
(National Education System สถาบันการศึกษาส่วนใหญ่จะใช้ภาษาอังกฤษเป็นสื่อในการสอน ระบบการเรียน การสอนแบบ Twinning Program เป็นระบบที่ได้รับความนิยมอย่างมากเป็นการร่วมมือกับสถาบันในประเทศ อเมริกา อังกฤษ ออสเตรเลีย นิวซีแลนด์ แคนนาดา สวิสเซอร์แลนด์ ฯลฯ

– ระดับประถมศึกษาหลักสูตร 6 ปีการศึกษา
– ระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้น หลักสูตร 3 ปีการศึกษา
– ระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย หลักสูตร 2 ปีการศึกษา
– ระดับเตรียมอุดมศึกษา หลักสูตร 1 หรือ 2 ปีการศึกษา
– ระดับอุดมศึกษา หลักสูตรเฉลี่ยประมาณ 3 ปีครึ่ง ถึง 4 ปีการศึกษา











การแบ่งระดับการศึกษา
ระดับการศึกษาของประเทศมาเลเซียแบ่งระดับการศึกษาออกเป็น 5 ระดับดังนี้
1 Pre – School Education คือการศึกษาระดับ Kindergartenโดยมาเลเซียจะให้เด็กเรียนในระดับนี้ตอนอายุ 4 ปี
2. Primary Education เด็กทุกคนจะต้องเริ่มเรียนในระดับนี้เมื่ออายุครบ 6 ปี ซึ่งจะใช้เวลาเรียน 6 ปี เหมือนกับประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1 – 6 ของประเทศไทยโรงเรียนประถมศึกษาในมาเลเซียแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ประเภท คือ
(1.) National Primary School จะใช้ภาษามาเลเซียในการสอน
(2.) Vermacular School จะใช้ภาษาจีน หรือทมิฬในการสอน
เมื่อเด็ก ๆ เรียนจบในระดับ Primary Education เด็กทุกคนต้องผ่านการสอบข้อสอบระดับชาติ (Ujian Pencapain Sekolah Rendah:UPSR) จึงจะขึ้นไปเรียนต่อระดับ Secondary Education ได้
3. มัธยมศึกษา (Secondary Education) เป็นการศึกษาต่อเนื่องจากระดับประถมศึกษามีระยะเวลาเรียน 5 ปี หากเป็นโรงเรียนรัฐบาลจะสอนโดยใช้ภาษามาเลเซีย ซึ่งการศึกษาระดับนี้แบ่งการศึกษาออกเป็น 2 ระดับ คือ
(1.) Lower Secondary (Form 1 – 3 )
(2.) Upper Secondary (Form 4 – 5)
โรงเรียนที่เปิดสอนในระดับ Upper Secondary มี 3 สาขาคือ
– (Art & Science)
– เน้นด้านเทคนิค
– เน้นด้านวิชาชีพ
นักเรียนที่เลือกเรียนสายวิชาการและเทคนิคเมื่อจบแล้วจะต้องสอบผ่านข้อสอบของรัฐ (Sijit Pelajaran Malaysia: SPM) และสายวิชาชีพคือ (Sijit Pelajaran Malaysia Vokasional:SPMV) หากสำเร็จการศึกษาระดับนี้ วุฒิที่ไดจะเทียบเท่ากับ O Levels เมื่อจบการศึกษาระดับนี้ สามารถเลือกว่าจะเรียนต่อใน Certificate or Diploma หรือ เรียนต่อในระดับ Higher Education
4. (Post – Secondary or Pre – University Education) หากเลือกที่จะเรียนต่อในสายอุดมศึกษาจะต้องเข้ารับการศึกษาในระดับนี้ก่อนถึงจะสามารถก้าวต่อไปเรียนในระดับปริญญาตรีได้ การรับนักศึกษาเข้าเรียนในระดับนี้ จะดูสาขาที่เลือกตอนเรียนในระดับ Upper secondary และผลการเรียน SPM/SPMU เป็นหลัก และจะคัดเฉพาะเด็กที่ผ่านเกณฑ์เข้าศึกษาเท่านั้น การศึกษาในระดับนี้ใช้เวลา 1 – 2 ปี มี 2 เส้นทาง คือ Sixth Form และ Matriculation การเรียนในเส้นทาง Sixth Form จะมี 3 สาขา คือ Arts, Science และ Technical ซึ่งเมื่อเรียนจบแล้วจะต้องสอบผ่านข้อสอบของรัฐ คือ STPM (Sijit Tinggi Perselolaham Malaysia)
