1.4.1 ประชากรที่ใช้ในการวิจัย
ประชากร คือนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 2 คณะครุศาสตร์ สาขาภาษาอังกฤษ มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏเพชรบูรณ์ ภาคการศึกษาที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2559
1.4.2 ตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัย
กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 2 สาขาวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ คณะครุศาสตร์ ใช้การเลือกตัวอย่างแบบเจาะจง Purposive Sampling (ฉัตรศิริ ปิยะพิมลสิทธ์, 2549) ที่มีผลการเรียนในรายวิชาการเขียนระหว่างภาคการศึกษาที่ 1-2 ปีการศึกษา 2558 ต่ำกว่า C และจากแบบทดสอบกลาง ได้จำนวน 14 คน (5 กันยายน 2559)
1.4.3 เนื้อหาที่ใช้ในการทดลอง
การเรียนการสอนด้านคำศัพท์เพื่อนำไปพัฒนาการเขียนพื้นฐานสำหรับนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 2 สาขาวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ คณะครุศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏเพชรบูรณ์ จำนวน 5 เรื่อง ได้แก่ Synonyms and Antonyms, Prefix and Suffix, Verbs, Transitional words และ Basic vocabularies for writing
1.4.4 ตัวแปรที่ศึกษา
1) ตัวแปรต้น คือ ชุดฝึกคำศัพท์สำหรับการเขียนพื้นฐาน
2) ตัวแปรตาม คือ ผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนด้านคำศัพท์สำหรับการเขียนพื้นฐาน
1.4.5 ระยะเวลาในการดำเนินการวิจัย
ผู้วิจัยเริ่มดำเนินการวิจัยตั้งแต่เดือนสิงหาคม สิ้นสุดในเดือนพฤศจิกายน พ.ศ.2559

1.5 นิยามศัพท์เฉพาะ
1) คำศัพท์ (Vocabulary) หมายถึง คำศัพท์พื้นฐานที่ควรรู้สำหรับใช้ในการเขียน
2) ผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียน (Learning Achievement) หมายถึง คะแนนจากการทำแบบทดสอบหลังใช้เปรียบเทียบกับก่อนใช้ชุดฝึกคำศัพท์สำหรับการเขียนพื้นฐานของนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 2 ที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้น
3) ความพึงพอใจในการเรียน (Instructional Satisfaction) หมายถึง ระดับความรู้สึกชอบ
ไม่ชอบ หรือปานกลาง จากน้อยที่สุดไปหามากที่สุด ปรากฏจากคะแนนอัตราส่วนที่นักศึกษาเลือกจากเรียนผ่านชุดคำศัพท์สำหรับการเขียนพื้นฐานของนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 2
