การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ คือ

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ คือ ๑) เพื่อศึกษาบทบาทในการเผยแผ่ธรรมของพระสงฆ์ตามในตำบลเวียงยอง อำเภอเมืองลำพูน2) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบบทบาทในการเผยแผ่ธรรมของพระสงฆ์ในตำบลเวียงยอง อำเภอเมืองลำพูน ตามปัจจัยส่วนบุคคล3) เพื่อศึกษาปัญหาอุปสรรคและข้อเสนอแนะเกี่ยวกับบทบาทในการเผยแผ่ธรรมของพระสงฆ์ในตำบลเวียงยอง อำเภอเมืองลำพูน4) เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางการเผยแผ่ธรรมของพระสงฆ์ในตำบลเวียงยอง อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดลำพูนดำเนินการวิจัยแบบผสมผสาน อย่างเท่าเทียม (Mixed Reserch Method) ประชากรกลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือประชากรที่อยู่ในตำบลเวียงยอง อำเภอเมืองลำพูน จำนวน 6,167 คน ทำการสุ่มกลุ่มตัวอย่างโดยใช้สูตรคำนวณขนาดกลุ่มตัวอย่างของทาโร่ ยามาแน่ ได้ขนาดกลุ่มตัวอย่างคือ ๓76 คน และเก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถาม และทำการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้โปรแกรมสำเร็จรูปเพื่อการวิจัยทางสังคมศาสตร์ เพื่อหาค่าความถี่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย และค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานในการอธิบายลักษณะข้อมูลทั่วไป และทำการทดสอบสมมติฐานด้วยการทดสอบค่า (t-test) และค่าเอฟ (f-test) ด้วยการวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนแบบทางเดียว (One-Way Anova) เมื่อพบว่ามีความแตกต่างจึงทดสอบความแตกต่างรายคู่โดยวิธีการหาผลต่างนัยสำคัญน้อยที่สุด(Least Significant Difference) และข้อมูลจากการสัมภาษณ์ ผู้วิจัยจะทำการจัดกลุ่มข้อมูลตามสาระสำคัญของประเด็นการสัมภาษณ์ จากนั้นทำการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงเนื้อหา

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า
1. ผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามส่วนใหญ่เป็นพบว่าเป็นเพศหญิง จำนวน ๑92 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ
๕1.1 มีอายุระหว่าง 50 – 59 ปี จำนวน 114 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ ๓๐.3 มีสถานภาพสมรส จำนวน 234 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 62.2 มีวุฒิการศึกษาระดับประถมศึกษาจำนวน 158 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 42.0 มีอาชีพธุรกิจส่วนตัว จำนวน 99 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 26.3 รายได้เฉลี่ยต่อเดือน ต่ำกว่า10,000 บาทจำนวน 169 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 44.4
2. ระดับบทบาทในการเผยแผ่ธรรมมะของพระสงฆ์ตามทัศนคติของประชาชนในตำบลเวียงยอง อำเภอเมืองลำพูน พบว่า ประชาชนผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามมีความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับการเผยแผ่ธรรมะของพระสงฆ์ ในตำบลเวียงยอง อำเภอเมืองลำพูน ในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง ( = ๓.32) เมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายด้าน พบว่า ด้าน ด้านสันทัสสนาอยู่ในลำดับมากที่สุด รองลงมาคือด้านสัมปหังสนากับสมุตเตธนาส่วนด้านสมาทปนาอยู่ในลำดับน้อยที่สุด
3. การเปรียบเทียบระดับบทบาทในการเผยแผ่ธรรมมะของพระสงฆ์ในตำบลเวียงยอง อำเภอเมืองลำพูน การทดสอบสมมติฐานโดยการวิเคราะห์ความแตกต่างการจำแนกปัจจัยส่วนบุคคล ได้แก่ เพศ อายุ สถานภาพ วุฒิการศึกษา อาชีพและรายได้ พบว่าโดยภาพรวมแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05 จึงยอมรับสมมติฐานที่ตั้งไว้
4. ผลการศึกษาปัญหาอุปสรรค และข้อเสนอแนะเกี่ยวกับบทบาทในการเผยแผ่ธรรมมะของพระสงฆ์ในตำบลเวียงยอง อำเภอเมือง ลำพูน ได้แก่ (1 ด้านสันทัสสนาพระสงค์เทศน์บรรยาย ซึ่งได้มีการยกตัวอย่างให้ฟังชัดเจนได้ไม่ดีขาดความรู้แจ่มแจ้งเด็ดขาดในการแสดงหลักคำสอนพระสงฆ์เป็นแบบอย่างที่ดีก่อนจะเผยแผ่ธรรมได้ไม่เท่าที่ควร และมีสมาธิความตั้งใจในการเผยแผ่เข้าใจในการเผยแผ่หลักธรรม ค่อนข้างน้อย (2 ด้านสมาทปนาพระสงฆ์ขาดหลักปฏิบัติตามศีล สมาธิ ปัญญา เพื่อสร้างแรงจูงใจในการนำไปปฏิบัติ ใช้สำเนียง ทำนอง ถ้อยคำที่ชัดเจน ในการเผยแผ่ไม่ดีเท่าที่ควร (3 ด้านสมุตเตชนาพระสงฆ์แสดงธรรมไม่ลึกซึ้งและดูเรียบง่ายบุคลิกภาพในการในการแสดงธรรมของพระสงฆ์อาจหาร แกล้วกล้าได้ไม่ดีเท่าที่ควร และเทศนาธรรมให้ตรงกับเหตุการณ์ที่แท้จริงได้ไม่ดีเท่าที่ควร (4 ด้านสัมปหังสนาพระสงค์แสดงธรรมโดยยกเอาเรื่องราวในธรรมบท หรือนิทานมาประกอบค่อนข้างน้อย แสดงธรรม ยึดตามหลักคัมภีร์มากกว่านำมาประยุกต์ กับสถานการณ์ปัจจุบัน และแสดงธรรมยกสุภาษิต คำพังเพย มาใช้กันค่อนข้างน้อย
5. ผลการศึกษาเชิงคุณภาพ พบว่า ผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญส่วนใหญ่เน้นให้พระสงฆ์แสดงธรรมแบบเทศน์บรรยายธรรม โดยให้แทรกนิทาน สุภาษิต และประยุกต์หลักธรรมให้เข้ากับสถานการณ์ในปัจจุบันและการวางตัวของพระสงฆ์ต้องมีความสำรวมเรียบร้อยและเป็นแบบอย่างที่ดีเพื่อให้ประชาชนที่มารับฟังสามารถนำไปวิเคราะห์เพื่อนำไปใช้เป็นแนวทางในการดำเนินชีวิต
