ทฤษฎีการบริหารการศึกษา
ในการบริหารสถานศึกษา ผู้บริหารควรมีหลักและกระบวนการบริหาร การบริหารการศึกษา หลักการแนวคิดในการบริหาร ภาพรวมของ การบริหารทั้งนี้เพื่อให้การจัดการบริหารสถานศึกษามีความเหมาะสมผู้เขียนจะได้กล่าวถึงประเด็นดังกล่าวเพื่อให้เกิดความเข้าใจและมุมมอง ในการบริหารสถานศึกษายิ่งขึ้นต่อไป
คำจำกัดความ
คำว่า “การบริหาร”(Administration) ใช้ในความหมายกว้าง ๆ เช่น การบริหารราชการ อีกคำหนึ่ง คือ “ การจัดการ” (Management) ใช้แทนกันได้ กับคำว่า การบริหาร ส่วนมากหมายถึง การจัดการทางธุรกิจมากกว่าโดยมีหลายท่านได้ระบุดังนี้

การบริหาร หมายถึง ศิลปะในการทำให้สิ่งต่าง ๆ ได้รับการกระทำจนเป็น ผลสำเร็จ กล่าวคือ ผู้บริหารไม่ใช่เป็นผู้ปฏิบัติ แต่เป็นผู้ใช้ศิลปะทำให้ผู้ปฏิบัติทำงานจนสำเร็จตามจุดมุ่งหมายที่ผู้บริหารตัดสินใจเลือกแล้ว (Simon)
การบริหาร คือ กระบวนการทำงานร่วมกับผู้อื่นเพื่อให้เกิดผลสัมฤทธิ์ตามเป้าหมายอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ(Sergiovanni)
