ทบทวนและสรุปเนื้อหาความรู้ต่าง ๆ ที่ได้ร่ำเรียนมาจากทั้งในโรงเรียนและสถาบันกวดวิชา โดยการถามตัวเองว่า แก่นความรู้ของวิชานี้อยู่ตรงไหน เนื้อหาสำคัญมีอะไรบ้าง มีประเด็นใดที่เราต้องศึกษาเพิ่มเติม เราเข้าใจถ่องแท้แล้วหรือยัง และเราจำอะไรได้บ้าง เป็นต้น การสรุปเนื้อหาคือ การคุยกับตัวเองและเขียนสรุปประเด็นออกมาเป็นข้อ ๆ เพื่อทำให้เราเห็นตนเองชัดขึ้น จะได้ไม่เกิดความท้อในการอ่านหนังสือ เพราะเมื่อเขียนออกแล้วเราจะรู้ว่าสิ่งใดควรอ่านบ้างและมีมากน้อยเพียงใด ซึ่งบางครั้งอาจจะไม่มากอย่างเราคิดไว้ก็ได้
