จัดขึ้นเพื่อเป็นการส่งเสริมอาชีพเกษตรกรรมของชาวบ้านอำเภอวังทรายพูน ซึ่งร้อยละ ๘๐ มีอาชีพทำนา ในฤดูแล้งจะปลูกพืชทนแล้ง ได้แก่ แตงโม อีกทั้งชาวบ้านยังมีความสามารถด้านหัตถกรรมทำกรงนก เป็นสินค้าส่งออกไปต่างจังหวัด และต่างประเทศช่วงเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ ของทุกปี
