การศึกษาเรื่อง กระบวนการลดการใช้ความรุนแรง : กรณีศึกษา มินดาเนา ประเทศฟิลิปปินส์ ข้อคิดสำหรับประเทศไทย
เป็นการศึกษาถึงปัจจัยใดบ้างที่ช่วยส่งเสริมและเป็นอุปสรรคต่อกระบวนการเจรจาสันติภาพในมินดาเนา โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อทราบถึงกระบวนการในการลดการใช้ความรุนแรงระหว่างรัฐบาลฟิลิปปินส์กับกลุ่ม MILF เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยและอุปสรรคที่ส่งผลต่อกระบวนการเจรจาระหว่างรัฐบาลฟิลิปปินส์กับกลุ่ม MILFและเพื่อศึกษากระบวนการลดการใช้ความรุนแรงระหว่างรัฐบาลฟิลิปปินส์กับกลุ่ม MILF ที่สามารถนำมาเป็นกรณีศึกษาสำหรับการแก้ไขปัญหาสามจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ของไทย
โดยจากการศึกษาพบว่า กระบวนการสันติภาพในมินดาเนาเกิดขึ้นได้เพราะความร่วมมือของภาคส่วนต่างๆที่ต้องการให้เกิดสันติภาพในมินดาเนา ซึ่งสามารถที่จะแบ่งได้เป็น 3 ปัจจัยดังนี้ 1.ความกระตือรือร้นในการแสวงหาสันติภาพทั้งรัฐบาลฟิลิปปินส์และกลุ่ม MILF 2.Third Person เข้ามาเป็นตัวกลางในการอำนวยความสะดวกในการเจรจาระหว่างรัฐบาลฟิลิปปินส์และกลุ่ม MILF ก็คือ รัฐบาลมาเลเซีย 3.บทบาทขององค์กรเอกชนและภาคประชาสังคมในมินดาเนา ที่มีส่วนร่วมในการสนับสนุนกระบวนการสันติภาพและร่วมพัฒนามินดาเนาในด้านสังคมและเศรษฐกิจ ซึ่งปัจจัยเหล่านี้เป็นส่วนช่วยทำให้กระบวนการสันติภาพในมินดาเนาสามารถดำเนินไปได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ
