การวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อศึกษาความต้องการสวัสดิการของผู้สูงอายุในอำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนครราชสีมา 2) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความต้องการสวัสดิการของผู้สูงอายุในอำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนครราชสีมา จำแนกตาม เพศ อายุ รายได้ สถานภาพสมรสและภูมิลำเนา และ3) เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางการจัดสวัสดิการที่สอดคล้องกับความต้องการของผู้สูงอายุในอำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนครราชสีมา
ประชากรคือผู้สูงอายุในอำเภอเมืองจังหวัดนครราชสีมา 398 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยคือแบบสอบถาม มีค่าสัมประสิทธิ์ความเชื่อมั่นเท่ากับ .86 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูล โดยวิเคราะห์หาค่าที (t-test) และวิเคราะห์ด้วยค่า F- test เมื่อพบความแตกต่างอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ0.05 จะทำการเปรียบเทียบเป็นรายคู่ตามวิธีของ Scheffe’ ผู้ให้ข้อมูลในการสัมภาษณ์แบบมีโครงสร้าง 15 คน ผลการวิจัย พบว่า 1.ความต้องการสวัสดิการของผู้สูงอายุในอำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนครราชสีมา โดยภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก นันทนาการมีค่าเฉลี่ยมากที่สุด ในขณะที่ด้านสุขภาพและการรักษาพยาบาลมีค่าเฉลี่ยน้อยที่สุด 2.การเปรียบเทียบความต้องการสวัสดิการของผู้สูงอายุในอำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนครราชสีมา จำแนกตาม เพศ อายุ รายได้ สถานภาพสมรสและภูมิลำเนา โดยภาพรวมและรายด้านทุกด้านไม่พบความแตกต่าง และ 3.แนวทางในการจัดสวัสดิการที่สอดคล้องกับความต้องการของผู้สูงอายุในอำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนครราชสีมาที่สำคัญ คือ จัดเวทีประชาคมเพื่อรับทราบถึงความต้องการของผู้สูงอายุ และสำรวจเพิ่มเติมเพื่อให้ได้ข้อมูลที่ถูกต้องครบถ้วน องค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นจะนำไปเป็นแนวทางพัฒนาต่อไป ทั้งนี้โดยความร่วมมือจากภาครัฐและอกชน
