ปัญหา- การกัดเซาะทะเลชายฝั่ง








หนึ่งในสาเหตุหลักของปัญหาการกัดเซาะชายฝั่งทะเลคือ :
ภาวะโลกร้อนสามารถเป็นปัจจัยเสริมความรุนแรงปัญหาการกัดเซาะชายฝั่งทะเล เนื่องจากผลกระทบที่ทำให้เกิดความแปรปรวนของสภาพอากาศโลก และการเพิ่มขึ้นของระดับน้ำทะเล มันส่งผลให้พายุและคลื่นที่พัดเข้าหาชายฝั่งทะเล มีความถี่และความรุนแรงเพิ่มขึ้นและมีการเปลี่ยนทิศทาง จนเกิดการกัดเซาะรุนแรงจนสูญเสียเนื้อที่ชายฝั่งทะเลและเกิดแผ่นดินทรุดตัวตามแนวชายฝั่งเพิ่มขึ้น ทำให้ชุมชนต้องอพยพย้ายที่อยู่อาศัย




สาเหตุของการเกิดการกัดเซาะชายฝั่ง




เกิดขึ้นจากหลายสาเหตุ โดยสามารถแบ่งเป็น 2 สาเหตุหลักคือ เกิดจาก กระบวนการทางธรรมชาติ และ เกิดจากการกระทำของมนุษย์


1.) เกิดจากกระบวนการตามธรรมชาติ




- ลมมรสุมและพายุ จะทำให้เกิดคลื่นลมเคลื่อนเข้าปะทะชายฝั่ง ทำให้มีการพัดเอามวลทรายออกจากพื้นที่ชายฝั่งในช่วงเวลาหนึ่ง และจะพัดเอามวลทรายกลับมาในอีกช่วงเวลาหนึ่ง ซึ่งอาจจะทำให้มวลทรายที่ถูกพัดพาออกไปจากชายฝั่ง และมวลทรายที่ถูกพัดพาเข้ามานั้นไม่สมดุลกัน



- น้ำขึ้น-น้ำลง ส่งผลต่อการเคลื่อนตัวของตะกอนดิน และมวลทรายบริเวณชายฝั่ง ซึ่งอาจจะเกิดความไม่สมดุลดังเช่นที่เกิดกับลมมรสุมและพายุ ก็จะมีส่วนทำให้เกิดการกัดเซาะชายฝั่งได้เช่นกัน





2.) เกิดจากการกระทำของมนุษย์
1.การพัฒนาพื้นที่ชายฝั่ง เพื่อการพัฒนาทางด้านเศรษฐกิจ ทำให้มีการก่อสร้างต่างๆ ในพื้นที่ชายฝั่งทะเลเป็นจำนวนมาก เช่น การสร้างนิคมอุตสาหกรรม การสร้างเส้นทางคมนาคมขนส่ง การก่อสร้างท่าเรือน้ำลึก ซึ่งอาจส่งผลให้เกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพทางธรณีวิทยาของชายฝั่ง ทรัพยากร และระบบนิเวศในบริเวณนั้น ทำให้ขาดความสมดุล และนำไปสู่การเกิดการกัดเซาะชายฝั่งได้ง่าย


2.การบุกรุกพื้นที่ป่าชายเลน เพื่อพัฒนาเป็นแหล่งเพาะเลี้ยงสัตว์น้ำ เช่น กุ้งกุลาดำ ทำให้เกิดการสูญเสียทรัพยากรที่มีความสำคัญในการป้องกันกระแสลม กระแสคลื่น อีกทั้งรากของไม้ชายเลนยังช่วยดักตะกอนโคลนที่ฟุ้งกระจายให้ตกตะกอน ตลอดจนช่วยให้ดินเลนยึดรวมตัวกันทำให้ยากต่อการพังทลายอีกด้วย ดังนั้นในบริเวณที่มีการบุกรุกพื้นที่ป่าชายเลน จะสามารถเกิดปัญหาการกัดเซาะชายฝั่งได้ง่าย


3.การสร้างเขื่อน และอ่างเก็บน้ำบริเวณต้นน้ำ ทำให้การไหลของกระแสน้ำเกิดการชะลอตัว ดังนั้นตะกอนจำนวนหนึ่งตกตะกอนอยู่ในลำและบางส่วนถูกกักไว้ที่บริเวณเหนือเขื่อน ทำให้ตะกอนที่ไหลไปสะสมตัวบริเวณปากแม่น้ำมีน้อยลง ดังนั้นจึงขาดตะกอนที่จะถูกเติมเข้าไปแทนที่ตะกอนบริเวณชายฝั่งที่ถูกพัดพาออกไป เป็นผลให้ชายฝั่งบริเวณดังกล่าวเกิดการกัดเซาะชายฝั่งได้ง่าย


4.การสูบน้ำบาดาล มีส่วนทำให้เกิดการทรุดตัวของดิน พร้อมกับมีส่วนทำให้เกิดการกัดเซาะชายฝั่งได้ด้วยเช่นกัน


5.การเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศโลก เนื่องจากระดับน้ำทะเลเพิ่มสูงขึ้น ทำให้น้ำทะเลรุกเข้าไปแผ่นดินมากขึ้น ส่งผลให้ชายฝั่งทะเลเกิดการกัดเซาะชายฝั่งรุนแรงขึ้น
