ข) รายที่มีโรคประจำตัว อันได้แก่ เบาหวาน โรคความดันโลหิตสูงร่วมด้วย
ค) รายที่มีอาการปวดบริเวณใบหน้าเกิดขึ้นด้วย (ยกเว้นอาการปวดบริเวณหู)

พบว่าผู้ป่วยที่ได้รับการรักษาด้วยยาสเตียรอยด์ในขนาดสูงๆ ตั้งแต่ต้น คือภายในสัปดาห์แรกของการเกิดโรคมักจะมีการฟื้นและหายได้อย่างดีถึงร้อยละ 95
