ประวัติมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏเพชรบูรณ์
เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2514 นายจำรูญ ปิยัมปุตระ ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดเพชรบูรณ์ ร่วมกับพ่อค้าประชาชน และสมาชิกผู้แทนราษฏรจังหวัดเพชรบูรณ์ ได้ทำหนังสือถึงรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงศึกษาธิการขอจัดตั้งวิทยาลัยครูขึ้นกระทรวงศึกษาธิการพิจารณาแล้วอนุมัติให้สร้างวิทยาลัยครูขึ้นที่จังหวัด เพชรบูรณ์โดยประกาศตั้งเมื่อวันที่ 29 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2516 และได้แต่งตั้งให้ นายน้อย สีป้อ อาจาร์เอก วิทยาลัยครูพิบูลสงคราม พิษณุโลก มารักษาการในตำแหน่งอาจารย์ใหญ่ วิทยาลัยครูเพชรบูรณ์ ตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2516 และได้รับนักศึกษารุ่นแรกในปีการศึกษา พ.ศ. 2519 โดยรับผิดชอบการศึกษาในเขตจังหวัดเพชรบูรณ์และจังหวัดพิจิตร


เมื่อวันที่ 19 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2518 มีการประกาศใช้ “พระราชบัญญัติวิทยาลัยครู พุทธศักราช 2518” วิทยาลัยครูจึงได้รับการยกฐานะเป็นสถานสถาบันอุดมศึกษา สังกัดกระทรวงศึกษาธิการ ในปีพุทธศักราช 2538 พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวภูมิพลอดุลยเดชฯ ได้ลงพระปรมาภิไธยประกาศในพระราชกิจจานุเบกษา เริ่มใช้พระราชบัญญัติสถาบันราชภัฏเมื่อวันที่ 25 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2538 เป็นต้นมา
