และในปี 2545 เพิ่มขึ้นเป็น ร้อยละ 9.4
และจากการสำรวจครั้งล่าสุด ประชากรผู้สูงอายุไทย มีร้อยละ 10.7 หรือ 7.02 ล้านคน
