โรงงานรัตนโกสินทร์ก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2515 โดยคุณรัตนชัย โฆษะบดี เป็นผู้ก่อตั้งและบริหารงาน ปัจจุบันนี้บุตรธิดาเป็นผู้บริหารงานแทน ซึ่งเนื้อที่เดิมที่เริ่มก่อตั้งนั้นมีเพียง 7 ไร่ แต่ปัจจุบันได้ขยายกิจการออกเป็นถึง 22 ไร่แล้ว โรงโอ่งมีทั้งหมด 4 สาขา ส่วนโรงงานรัตนโกสินทร์สาขา 2 ก่อตั้งเมื่อประมาณปี พ.ศ.2530 โดยการซื้อกิจการต่อจากญาติผู้ใหญ่ แล้วทำการซ่อมแซม ปรับปรุง ต่อเติม จากเดิมมีเนื้อที่ 14 ไร่ จนถึงปัจจุบันมี 29 ไร่ซึ่งโรงงานนั้นได้มาจากรัตนโกสินทร์ สาขาแรกที่ ถ.เพชรเกษม ปี พ.ศ.2515 และคุณพ่อรัตนชัยได้อนุญาตให้นำชื่อโรงงานมาตั้งเป็นสาขา 2 ซึ่งบริหารงานโดย คุณชัยชนะ-คุณปิยพัชร์ แก้วอร่าม และเริ่ม ก่อสร้างโรงงานรัตนโกสินทร์ เซรามิกค์ 4 ประมาณปลายปี 2537 ในเนื้อที่ 5 ไร่ ที่ตำบลท่าราบ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดราชบุรี ทุนการก่อสร้างประมาณ 5 ล้านบาท และทางโรงงานได้ซื้อที่ดินประมาณ 11 ล้านเศษ เงินลงทุนบางส่วนได้มาจาก คุณรัตนชัย – คุณสนธิ์ โฆษะบดี ซึ่งเป็นคุณพ่อคุณแม่ และเป็นเจ้าของโรงงานรัตนโกสินทร์ 1 ซึ่ง คุณ สุขชาติ โฆษะบดี ผู้จัดการเคยเป็นฝ่ายผลิตถึง 22 ปี และทุนอีกส่วนหนึ่งได้มาจากธนาคาร ภาคเอกชน
