หน้าที่ คือ สิ่งที่สมาชิกสหกรณ์จะต้องปฏิบัติหรือกระทำตาม หากไม่ปฏิบัติตามหน้าที่แล้ว สมาชิกสหกรณ์ย่อมจะมีความผิด ซึ่งอาจจะถูกลงโทษหรือบางครั้งอาจจะทำให้สหกรณ์ไม่เจริญเท่าที่ควร หรือสมาชิกจะเสียประโยชน์ทั้งส่วนตัวและส่วนรวมด้วย หน้าที่ของสมาชิก มีดังนี้

4. ให้ความร่วมมือส่งเสริมกิจการสหกรณ์ โดยถือหุ้นเพิ่มขึ้น หรือฝากเงินเพิ่ม หรือใช้บริการของสหกรณ์
5. ควบคุมดูแลกิจการของสหกรณ์ โดยเสนอข้อคิดเห็นในที่ประชุมใหญ่ เลือกสมาชิกที่ดีและเหมาะสมเป็นกรรมการของสหกรณ์
