Critical Thinking คือ การคิดอย่างไตร่ตรองและรอบคอบ มีความถูกต้องแม่นยำและเชื่อถือได้ ถือว่าเป็นวิธีการแสวงหาความจริง ความถูกต้องที่ดีที่สุด ซึ่งมีองค์ประกอบสำคัญ 3 ส่วน คือ การวิเคราะห์ การตัดสินใจ และการเลือกใช้แนวคิดที่เหมาะสมที่สุด ซึ่ง Critical Thinking Process (กระบวนการคิดเชิงวิจารณญาณ) ประกอบไปด้วย
1) Identify Assumptions (การแยกแยะ หรือสมมติฐานว่าเรื่องนี้คืออะไร)
2) Check Accucracy &Validity (การตรวจสอบความถูกต้องว่ามีหลักฐานสนับสนุนเชื่อถือได้หรือไม่
3) Take alternative Perspectives (การหามุมมองทางเลือกว่ามีทางเลือกอื่นใดอีกหรือไม่ที่จะนำมาช่วยประเมินทางเลือกนั้น)
4) Take Informed Action (การนำข้อมูลมาประเมินแล้วหาข้อสรุปที่มีเหตุผลตามพยานหลักฐาน)
