การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยและพัฒนา มุ่งศึกษาผลกระทบของมลภาวะทางเสียงที่รบกวน ชุมชนศรีจันทร์ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดขอนแก่น กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษา คือ ประชาชนที่อาศัยอยู่ภายในชุมชนศรีจันทร์ จังหวัดขอนแก่นทั้งหมด 890 คน และกลุ่มเป้าหมายที่ทำการสำรวจเป็นกลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 69 คน คิดเป็น 7% จากประชากร เครื่องมือวิจัยคือแบบสัมภาษณ์ และนำมาวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลและเพื่อหาค่าเฉลี่ย
ผลการวิจัย พบว่า
1. ประชาชนส่วนมากประกอบอาชีพค้าขายและได้รับผลกระทบมากที่สุด
2. มลภาวะทางเสียงที่ส่งกระทบต่อประชาชนภายในชุมชนมากที่สุด คือ มลภาวะทางเสียงที่เกิดจากสถานบันเทิง
3. มลภาวะทางเสียงที่เกิดขึ้นส่งผลกระทบต่อการนอนหลับพักผ่อนแก่ประชาชนมากที่สุด
ข้อเสนอแนะสำคัญ ทางองค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นที่เกี่ยวข้องควรมีมาตรการเด็ดขาดในส่วนเวลาการเปิด-ปิดของสถานบันเทิง เพื่อให้ส่งผลกระทบต่อประชาชนน้อยที่สุด
