(4) พื้นที่ป่าชายเลน จังหวัดสตูล มีพื้นที่ป่าชายเลนซึ่งสามารถพบได้ในเขตอำเภอที่ติดชายฝั่งทะเล ได้แก่ อำเภอทุ่งหว้าอำเภอละงู อำเภอท่าแพ และอำเภอเมือง มีเนื้อที่ประมาณ 217,007 ไร่ คิดเป็นร้อยละ 12.37 ของพื้นที่จังหวัด
ตามมติคณะรัฐมนตรี เมื่อวันที่ 9 กุมภาพันธ์ 2524 มีการกำหนดป่าชายเลนของจังหวัดสตูลออกเป็น 5 ป่า คือ
- ป่าชายเลน จ.สตูล ตอนที่ 1 อยู่ในเขตอำเภอทุ่งหว้า, อำเภอละงู
- ป่าชายเลน จ.สตูล ตอนที่ 2 อยู่ในเขตอำเภอละงู, อำเภอเมือง
- ป่าชายเลน จ.สตูล ตอนที่ 3 (ป่าปาเต๊ะ-ป่ากลัดจูด) อยู่ในเขตอำเภอเมือง
- ป่าชายเลน จ.สตูล ตอนที่ 4 (ป่าเจ๊ะบิลัง-ป่าตันหยงโป-ป่าตำมะลัง) อยู่ในเขตอำเภอเมือง
