Than Salaka Pat is a tradition of offering things to monks by drawing lots. It is called Boon Khao Salak or Boon Khao Sak by Isan (northeastern) people, and Taan Kuay Salak or Kin Kuay Salak by northern people. In the central region, it is celebrated around the sixth lunar month until the beginnig of Buddhist Lent (May-July). In the northern and northeastern regions, it is celebrated between the tenth lunar month to the full moon of the eleventh lunar month (around October).
