(Details) คือ ข้อเท็จจริง หรือข้อมูล ที่ขยาย หรือสนับสนุนใจความสำคัญ (Main Idea) จึงมักเรียกอีกอย่างหนึ่งว่า "รายละเอียดสนับสนุน" (Supporting Details)
แบ่งออกเป็น 2 ชนิด คือ
1. รายละเอียดสนับสนุนหลัก (Major supporting detail) เป็นรายละเอียดที่ทำหน้าที่ขยายหรือสนับสนุนใจความสำคัญ (Main Idea)
