การวิจัยครั้งนี้ เป็นการวิจัยเชิงกึ่งทดลอง มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาเปรียบเทียบค่าเฉลี่ยระดับน้ำตาลในเลือด ก่อนและหลังการปฏิบัติตนตามแนวทางโนนหอมโมเดล ในเขตเมือง โรงพยาบาลส่งเสริมสุขภาพตำบลธาตุเชิงชุม ตำบลธาตุเชิงชุม อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดสกลนคร มีกลุ่มตัวอย่าง 40 คนในช่วงเดือนสิงหาคม - เดือนพฤศจิกายน พ.ศ.2558 เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลด้วยแบบสอบถามแล้ววิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วย 1) สถิติเชิงพรรณนา ได้แก่ ความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ค่าต่ำสุด และค่าสูงสุด2) สถิติเชิงวิเคราะห์ ได้แก่วิเคราะห์สถิติเปรียบเทียบ (T- test) โดยวิเคราะห์ผล ก่อนและหลังการปฏิบัติตนตามแนวทางโนนหอมโมเดลของผู้ป่วยเบาหวาน
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า เพศ อายุ การศึกษาสูงสุด สถานะภาพสมรส มีความสัมพันธ์กับพฤติกรรมการดูแลตนเองของผุ้ป่วยโรคเบาหวาน อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ ที่ระดับ .05 (P-value =0.02) เมื่อพิจารณาค่าระดับน้ำตาลในเลือดของผู้ป่วยโรคเบาหวาน พบว่า หลังจากผู้ป่วยโรคเบาหวานมีความรู้ความเข้าใจและปฏิบัติตามปฏิทินชีวิต 7 สี ผู้ป่วยมีค่าเฉลี่ยระดับน้ำตาลในเลือดลดลงในกลุ่มปานกลาง ซึ่งก่อนเข้าร่วมผู้ป่วยมีค่าเฉลี่ยระดับน้ำตาลในเลือดอยู่ในกลุ่มมาก
