พ่อขุนรามคำแหงมหาราชทรงเป็นพระราชโอรสของพ่อขุนศรีอินทราทิตย์กับพระนางเสือง ทรงมีพระนามเดิมว่า ราม พระองค์ทรงขึ้นครองราชย์เป็นพระมหากษัตริย์พระองค์ที่ 3 ของอาณาจักรสุโขทัย ตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 1822 ต่อจากพ่อขุนบานเมือง ซึ่งเป็นพระเชษฐา(พี่ชาย)
