วัดพระศรีรัตนศาสดาราม เรียกกันเป็นสามัญว่า วัดพระแก้ว ตั้งอยู่ในเขตพระราชฐานชั้นนอก ทางทิศตะวันออกของพระบรมมหาราชวัง มีพระระเบียงล้อมรอบเป็นอาณาบริเวณ ทางด้านหน้ามีประตูสวัสดิโสภา ซึ่งเป็นประตูกำแพงพระบรมมหาราชวังเป็นทางเข้าพระอาราม สามารถติดต่อกับเขตพระราชฐานชั้นกลางได้ทางประตูดุสิตศาสดา
