“...ในด้านบัญญัติศัพท์หรือคำใหม่ก็เป็นทางหนึ่งที่อันตรายมากเหมือนกัน...สำหรับคำใหม่ที่ตั้งขึ้นมีความจำเป็นทางวิชาการไม่ใช่น้อย แต่บางคำที่ง่ายๆ ก็ควรจะมี ควรจะใช้คำเก่าๆที่เรามีอยู่แล้ว ไม่ควรจะมาตั้งศัพท์ใหม่ให้ยุ่งยาก... แต่การตั้งคำใหม่นั้นมีหลักหลายประการ และผู้ที่ตั้งคำนั้นต้องรู้คำและหลักของภาษาลึกซึ้งทั้งภาษาไทย ทั้งภาษาต่างประเทศ ไม่ใช่เฉพาะภาษาอังกฤษ ต้องทราบถึงภาษาอื่นๆ ด้วย ต้องทราบถึงหลักภาษาอังกฤษเองคือมาจากไหน มาจากความคิดอะไร เพื่อจะไม่ให้ผิดไปอย่างตลกขบขันทีเดียว...”
