ไวรัส เชื้อไวรัสจะอยู่ในตัวยุงได้นานตลอดชีวิตของยุง (1-2เดือน)
ระยะฟักตัว
ประมาณ 4 – 7 วัน
การติดต่อ
ยุงลายบ้าน (Aedes ageypti) ที่มีเชื้อเป็นพาหะแพร่กระจายโรค


อาการ
-ไข้สูงลอย ประมาณ 2 – 7 วัน อาจมีอาการปวดศีรษะ หน้าแดง เบื่ออาหารและอาเจียนร่วมด้วย
-มีอาการแสดงของเลือดออก พบจุดเลือดออกเล็กๆ ตามผิวหนังของแขนขา อาจมีเลือดกำเดา
