โรงเรียนได้กระทำพิธีเปิดโรงเรียนอย่างเป็นทางการ เมื่อวันที่ ๘ พฤษภาคม ๒๕๕๑ โดยได้เรียนเชิญ ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดชัยภูมิ มาเป็นประธานในพิธี ซึ่งประธานติดราชการ มอบหมายให้รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดชัยภูมิ
