ต้นเทียนวัดพระธาตุหนองบัว เป็นต้นเทียนประเภทเเกะสลักขนาดใหญ่ ส่งเข้าประกวดในงานประเพณีเเห่เทียนพรรษาของจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี ประจำปี 2556 ต้นเทียนมีขนาดเส้นผ่านศูนย์กลาง 60 ซม. สูง 70 ซม. (รวมทั้งยอด) ลวดลายที่เเกะสลักบนต้นเทียนเป็นรูปพุทธประวัติปางแสดงศิลปศาสตร์ยกธนู ส่วนยอดต้นเทียนเเกะสลักเป็นลายบัวกลุ่ม รอบๆ ต้นเทียนมีลายกนก

ส่วนฐานรองรับต้นเทียนแบ่งเป็น 3 ส่วน

1. ส่วนด้านหน้า เป็นรูปนารายณ์ทรงสุบรรณ์ เเละพระญาครุฑนำขบวน

2. ส่วนกลาง เป็นพุทธประวัติตอนเจ้าชายสิทธัตถะออกผนวช

3. ส่วนด้านหลัง เป็นปางอัญเชิญจุติเจ้าชายสัตดุสิตเทพบุตร ซึ่งมีพระอินทร์ พระพรหม เทวดา นางฟ้า อัญเชิญลงมาจุติเป็นพระพุทธเจ้า
