วิจัยเล่มนี้ได้ทำการศึกษากรณีการช่วยเหลือผู้สูงอายุที่อยู่คนเดียวโดยการนำเทคโนโลยีมาใช้ในชีวิตประจำวันของผู้สูงอายุเหล่านี้
โดยเทคโนโลยีที่กล่าวถึงนี้จะใช้โปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์และ Smartphone ในการทดสอบระบบในครั้งนี้
การทำงานของระบบจะถูกแบ่งออกเป็นสองประเภท
หนึ่งระบบโปรแกรม โปรแกรมถูกออกแบบให้มีการแสดงค่าสถานะต่างๆบนตัวโปรแกรม และมีการจำลองสถานการณ์ผ่านตัวโปรแกรมโดยใช้ data mining รวมถึงรับข้อมูลจากการตวจจับ sensor ของ smartphone
สอง smartphone ทำหน้าที่สองอย่างคือ ตรวจจับการเคลื่อนไหวของผู้สูงอายุด้วย sensor และส่งข้อมูลไปที่โปรแกรมเพื่อประมวลผลโดยจะมีการเชื่อมต่อกับ wi-fi ภายในบ้านอัตโนมัติโดยจะตรวจจับ wi-fi ที่สัญญานแรงที่สุด และมีหน้าที่ในการแจ้งเตือนสองรูปแบบคือส่งข้อความแจ้งเตือนอย่างเดียว และ แบบส่งข้อความพร้อมสัญญานเตือนเมื่อมีความผิดปกติเกิดขึ้นกับร่างกาย
