การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อคัดแยกและคัดเลือกแบคทีเรียที่มีความสามารถในการยับยั้งเชื้อราโรคใบจุด จากการทดลองสามารถคัดแยกเชื้อแบคทีเรียได้ทั้งหมด 51 ไอโซเลท เมื่อนำเชื้อแบคทีเรียดังกล่าวมาทดสอบความสามารถในการยับยั้งการเจริญของเชื้อราสาเหตุโรคพืชด้วยวิธี Dual Culture Technique พบว่ามีแบคทีเรียที่มีประสิทธิภาพในการยับยั้งเชื้อราที่ก่อโรคใบจุดเพียง 3 ไอโซเลท ประกอบด้วย KS193, KS196 และ KS229 หลังจากนั้นแบคทีเรียดังกล่าวได้ถูกนำมาจำแนกชนิดด้วยวิธีอณูพันธุศาสตร์ โดยอาศัยการเปรียบเทียบลำดับเบสของ 16s rRNA กับฐานข้อมูลของ GenBank ซึ่งพบว่าแบคทีเรียปฏิปักษ์ KS193 แ ะ KS229 คือ Bacillus subtilis และแบคทีเรียปฏิปักษ์ KS196 คือ Bacillus cereus โดยแบคทีเรียปฏิปักษ์ที่มีประสิทธิภาพในการยับยั้งการเกิดโรคใบจุดระดับกระถางปลูกได้ดีคือ Bacillus subtilis
