ในพงศาวดารฉบับหลวงประเสริฐกล่าวว่า แรกสถาปนาพระพุทธเจ้าพแนงเชิง พ.ศ.1867 ก่อนพระเจ้าอู่ทองสร้างกรุงศรีอยุธยา 26 ปี เป็นพระพุทธรูปขนาดใหญ่ หน้าตักกว้าง 14 เมตรเศษ สูง 19 เมตร เป็นพระพุทธรูปปูนปั้นปางสมาธิ
