พระพุทธรูปที่ประดิษฐานอยู่ในวัดมีสององค์คือ หลวงพ่องาม ด้วยเหตุที่งามด้วยพระพุทธลักษณะ สร้างด้วยทองสำริด ปางมารวิชัย ศิลปะสมัยอยุธยาตอนต้น สมัยอู่ทองรุ่นสาม หน้าตักกว้าง ๓๖ นิ้ว ปัจจุบันประดิษฐานอยู่ในพระอุโบสถ ส่วนอีกองค์หนึ่งคือ หลวงพ่อเพชรมีชัย เป็นพระพุทธรูปปางมารวิชัย เนื้อทองสำริด หน้าตักกว้าง ๓๖ นิ้ว เดิมชาวบ้านเรียกกันว่า หลวงพ่อวัดมหาธาตุ สันนิษฐานว่า สร้างพร้อมกับวัด ในปี พ.ศ.๑๙๒๖ ต่อมาเปลี่ยนเป็นเรียกว่า หลวงพ่อเพชรมีชัย เพราะถือเอาคำพูดของเจ้าพระยาจักรี แม่ทัพไทยที่ตีฝ่าวงล้อมทัพพม่า ที่ยกมาล้อมเมืองพิษณุโลก มาอยู่ที่เมืองเพชรบูรณ์ แล้วยกกองทัพกลับไปตีเมืองพิษณุโลกกลับคืน ขณะเดินทัพผ่านวัดมหาธาตุ ได้พาทหารไปนมัสการพระพุทธรูป เสร็จแล้วเปล่งเสียงอันดังว่า มีชัย ทั่วทั้งกองทัพ จึงได้ชื่อต่อมาว่า หลวงพ่อเพชรมีชัย
