การศึกษาภาคสนามครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาประสิทธิภาพของทรายเคลือบสารเคมีทีมีฟอส1% ชนิดบรรจุซองขนาด 50 กรัม ในการป้องกันการเกิดลูกน้ำยุงลายในภาชนะเก็บน้ำที่มีการใช้น้ำหมุนเวียนในพื้นที่ชุมชนบ้านหนองปลาหมอ ตำบลหนองปลาหมอ อำเภอบ้านโป่ง จังหวัดราชบุรี เป็นระยะเวลา 3 เดือน ภาชนะที่ใช้ในการทดสอบ คือ โอ่งขนาด 200 ลิตร จำนวน 35 ใบ อัตราการใช้ทรายเคลือบสารเคมีทีมีฟอส1% จำนวน 20 กรัม ต่อน้ำ 200 ลิตร โดยใช้โอ่งทดสอบ จำนวน 30 ใบ และเป็นโอ่งควบคุม จำนวน 5 ใบ ทำการสำรวจลูกน้ำในโอ่งทดสอบทุกสัปดาห์เป็นระยะเวลา 12 สัปดาห์ เริ่มต้นเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ 2555 สิ้นสุดเมษายน 2555 และสรุปผลการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนา ผลการศึกษาพบว่า โอ่งทดสอบทุกใบที่ใส่ทรายเคลือบทีมีฟอส1% มีประสิทธิภาพในการป้องกันการเกิดลูกน้ำยุงลายได้ 100% เป็นระยะเวลา 12 สัปดาห์ ในชุมชนที่มีการใช้น้ำหมุน- เวียนเป็นประจำ และมีฤทธิ์ในการฆ่าลูกน้ำยุงลายที่ใช้ทดสอบอยู่ที่ระดับ 83.3 – 100 %
