นายกุลิศ สมบัติศิริ อธิบดีกรมศุลกากร กล่าวว่า กรมศุลกากรได้ศึกษาทำการปลดปล่อยสินค้านำเข้าให้มีความรวดเร็วขึ้น เพื่อให้การจัดอันดับความยากง่ายในการประกอบธุรกิจของประเทศไทย(Ease of Doing Business) ประจำปี 2016-2017 ซึ่งสำรวจโดยธนาคารโลก(เวิลด์แบงก์) ในส่วนของกรมศุลกากรเรื่องการค้าต่างประเทศมีอันดับที่ดีขึ้น จากการทำธุรกิจการค้าต่างประเทศในส่วนการตรวจปล่อยสินค้ามีอันดับที่ตกลงจาก 55 เป็น 56
